Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions researchers ask us most – about peptides, quality, ordering and delivery.

All products sold by Ultra Peptides are strictly for laboratory research purposes. They are not intended for human or veterinary use, consumption or any in vivo application.

Research peptides and quality

What are research peptides?

Research peptides are short chains of amino acids – the building blocks of proteins – made synthetically for laboratory study. Scientists use them in cell-culture and other in vitro experiments to investigate signalling pathways, receptor binding and other biological processes.

Are research peptides legal in the UK?

Yes. Research peptides can be bought and sold in the UK for laboratory research. They are not licensed medicines, so they must not be marketed or supplied for human consumption – which is why every product we sell is labelled and sold for research use only.

What does the MHRA say about research peptides?

The MHRA regulates medicines. A peptide sold purely as a research chemical is not a medicine, but a supplier that makes medicinal claims – for example about healing or weight loss – brings the product within the Human Medicines Regulations 2012. We never make such claims.

What types of research peptides do you supply?

Tissue-repair peptides (BPC-157, TB-500, KPV), growth-hormone research peptides (CJC-1295, Ipamorelin, Tesamorelin, IGF-1 LR3), metabolic research compounds (MOTS-c, AOD-9604, HGH Fragment 176-191, 5-Amino-1MQ, SLU-PP-332), longevity compounds (Epithalon, NAD+, SS-31, FOXO4-DRI, Glutathione), copper peptides (GHK-Cu and blends), neuropeptides (Selank, Semax, DSIP) and PT-141 and Kisspeptin-10.

What is the difference between purity and net content?

Purity is the share of the target peptide among all peptide material in the vial, measured by HPLC – 99% means 99% is the correct sequence. Net content is the actual mass of peptide in the vial. Our certificates report both where the laboratory measures them.

What purity should research peptides have?

For reliable results, look for at least 98–99% purity by HPLC, with identity confirmed by mass spectrometry. All of our peptides are supplied at ≥99%.

What is a certificate of analysis (CoA)?

A CoA is a batch-specific laboratory report that confirms a compound's identity and purity. A good CoA names the laboratory, shows the HPLC result and, ideally, mass-spectrometry data and a lot number. Our certificates are published on the lab reports page.

How do I spot a low-quality supplier?

Be careful with suppliers who publish no certificates, quote prices far below the market, claim impossible purities such as 99.9%+, or market peptides for human use or with health claims.

How long do lyophilised peptides last?

Stored correctly, most lyophilised peptides stay stable for 24 months or more in the fridge (2–8 °C) and longer frozen at −20 °C. Once reconstituted, keep them refrigerated and use them within weeks. See our storage guide.

Can peptides be mixed together in one vial?

We advise against mixing separate peptides yourself unless your protocol requires it. If you need two compounds together, our pre-made blends are lyophilised in a fixed ratio.
