TB-500 UK – TB-500 5 mg and 10 mg vial from Ultra Peptides

What is TB-500?

TB-500 is the research name for synthetic thymosin beta-4 (Tβ4), a 43-amino-acid peptide that is one of the main G-actin-sequestering proteins in mammalian cells. Its actin-binding region (LKKTETQ) is central to most of the biology studied.

Our TB-500 is supplied lyophilised in 5 mg and 10 mg vials. The current 10 mg batch was tested by Freedom Diagnostics at 99.62% purity, with identity confirmed as thymosin beta-4 by mass spectrometry.

TB-500 research overview

Researchers who order TB-500 UK from us typically work in the following areas. All of the work summarised here is preclinical – cell-culture and animal-model research – and is not evidence of any effect in people.

Cell migration and actin dynamics

Because Tβ4 regulates actin polymerisation, it is a standard tool in scratch-wound and cell-migration assays using endothelial cells, keratinocytes and fibroblasts.

Cardiac and vascular models

A large body of animal research has looked at Tβ4 in models of cardiac injury, epicardial progenitor activation and angiogenesis.

Inflammation research

Tβ4 and its fragments are also studied for their effects on inflammatory signalling such as NF-κB activity in cell models.

Purity and independent lab testing

The current TB-500 batch (lot TB260414-02) was analysed by Freedom Diagnostics, an independent laboratory, and measured at 99.62% purity by HPLC; its identity was confirmed by mass spectrometry. Net content 10.39 mg · identity confirmed. The full certificate is shown below and on our lab reports page.

Peptides are synthesised to the published sequence, lyophilised and sealed under controlled conditions, then stored cold and away from light until they are packed for dispatch.

Reconstituting and storing TB-500

TB-500 arrives as a dry, lyophilised powder. Most researchers reconstitute it with bacteriostatic water, adding the diluent slowly down the inside of the vial and swirling gently rather than shaking. Use our reconstitution calculator to work out the concentration for the volume you add.

Unopened vials keep best frozen at −20 °C, or in the fridge at 2–8 °C for shorter periods, always protected from light. Once reconstituted, keep the solution refrigerated and avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles – splitting it into aliquots helps. Our storage guide covers shelf life in detail.

Often researched alongside: BPC-157.

Laboratory handling checklist for TB-500

  • Let the sealed vial reach room temperature before opening, so moisture does not condense on the powder.
  • Wipe the rubber septum with 70% isopropyl alcohol and work on a clean surface.
  • Add the diluent slowly down the inside wall of the vial and swirl gently until the powder has dissolved – do not shake.
  • Label the vial with the concentration, the date of reconstitution and the batch number.
  • Keep reconstituted solutions at 2–8 °C, protected from light, and use them within the stability window of your protocol.
  • Record lot numbers in your lab notebook so results can be traced back to a specific batch.
